The property is located on the southeast corner of 56 Ave (Highway 10) and 148 Street in Surrey, BC, Canada – adjacent to the building where our currently leased Ministry Centre is located. The property is just under 6 acres in size.

We would like to break ground in mid 2025. Construction time is currently estimated at about 24 months.

Yes. This was a key part of the development application that included a detailed study where experts analyzed peak usage. The property itself will include hundreds of spots. We have a reciprocal parking agreement with the neighbouring building on weeknights and weekends, and street parking on 54A Ave to the south. As well, we have an agreement for shared parking on weekends with the Benchmark East Building at 152nd Street and 54A Ave (via shuttle service). This brings the grand total to well beyond what is required.

The short answer is No because this is not just a building for one church community—it’s a facility to resource a movement across Canada and beyond. We are currently resourcing six churches, and the vision is for more to come. In order for that to happen we need a facility that can scale as we train leaders and develop content to support that goal. Secondly, the size represents the space we are currently using (renting and leasing) every week across multiple buildings in Surrey, BC. Taking that square footage and projecting out typical costs per square foot of a multipurpose building (including auditorium and parking), it is easy to see how the building costs are what they are.

If necessary, we would finance the difference between what we have raised and the remaining cost. It all depends on what that gap is as it relates to interest costs. We trust that God has brought us this far so we are expecting him to work through his people to provide all the necessary resources in a timely way.

It doesn’t make sense because what is needed urgently is gathering space which requires the auditorium and classroom space. That would leave the Level 3 offices and storage as a potential phase 2 but we are already paying leasing costs for a ministry office where the lease cost could pay off building the floor within 5 years.

We considered this solution (and searched for an appropriate building) since we started looking in 2013. One does not exist in Surrey or Langley that: a) can meet our needs, but also b) be rezoned for public assembly.

If we sold the land, we would still have to find a solution in the area. Time has run out given the urgency of the Bell Performing Arts Centre closing our lease as of June 2027. The faster we build and pay for the building, the faster funds we are spending now in lease and rent costs for venues and trucks will become available for investing in ministry. A Lease vs. Build Analysis was conducted that showed a build as the most financially prudent over 25 years.
