From June 1–8, we are inviting our whole church, across all our locations, into a focused season of prayer for the National Ministry Centre.

This project has never been merely about a building. It is about the gospel going forward, people meeting Jesus, leaders being developed, churches being planted and strengthened, and establishing a base for a lasting witness for Christ in Canada.

As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 16:8–9, "a wide door for effective work has opened," and we believe that is true for Village Church in this season. We have already seen incredible momentum, with the final permit issued after a nearly two-year process, pledges being fulfilled, and construction now well underway.

But open doors still require prayer, faith, courage, generosity, and dependence on God. So we are asking every person who calls Village home to join us.

From June 1 to 8, spend time in focused prayer personally, as families, in Community Groups, and with ministry teams. Pray that God would provide, protect, unify, strengthen, and prepare us for everything he intends to do through this facility.

On Monday, June 1, and Monday, June 8, we will also host prayer gatherings on Zoom and in person. Please join us as we gather together to pray as a community.

  • 6:30 – 7:00 AM PT (Zoom)
  • 12:00 – 12:45 PM PT (Zoom)
  • 7:30 – 8:30 PM PT (Zoom and in-person)

Our confidence is not in strategy, money, talent, momentum, or construction progress. Our confidence is in the Lord.

Let's pray with gratitude for what God has done, faith to respond to his invitation, and courage for what he is calling us to walk into together.

Join us as we pray the National Ministry Centre to completion.

With gratitude,

Join the Prayer Gathering on Zoom

Monday, June 1 & Monday, June 8 — 6:30 AM (Zoom) | 12:00 PM (Zoom) | 7:30 PM PT (Zoom and in-person)

Day 1 / Thanksgiving for Every Door God Has Opened

Acts 14:27

"They declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles."

Begin with gratitude. Lord, give us grateful hearts, clear eyes, and deep humility as we remember every door you have opened.

  • Gratitude for how the property became available.
  • Thanksgiving for zoning approval after multiple public hearings.
  • Praise for the generosity already shown through pledges and giving.
  • Thankfulness for receiving the final permit after nearly two years of waiting and negotiation.
  • For eyes to see the project not merely as a construction project, but as God's providence in motion.
  • For a church-wide spirit of humility that says, "Look what God has done with us."
Day 2 / Unity Across the Whole Church

Romans 15:5-6

"May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another... that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Pray for unity across every Village Church location as we move toward completion.

  • Unity across Surrey, Surrey North, Langley South, Vancouver, Calgary, and Oakville.
  • Protection from cynicism, comparison, fatigue, division, or passivity.
  • A shared sense that this is not one location's project, but a church-wide calling.
  • Staff, elders, leaders, ministry teams, donors, and the congregation to move together in faith.
  • The campaign to deepen love, trust, and shared mission across the church centred around Jesus.
  • One voice, one heart, one mission, all for the glory of Christ.
Day 3 / Contractors, Vendors, Workers, and Construction Safety

Psalm 127:1

"Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labour in vain."

Pray for everyone directly involved in the construction and completion of the facility. May the work be completed safely with diligence and excellence.

  • Every contractor, subcontractor, vendor, consultant, architect, engineer, site worker, and project manager. That they would see this is a different kind of project and lean in to learning more.
  • Safety on the construction site every day.
  • Wisdom, skill, integrity, and diligence in every trade.
  • Favour in scheduling, costs, supply chains, inspections, coordination, and problem-solving.
  • Protection from accidents, delays, conflict, and costly mistakes.
  • The work to be done with excellence, honesty, and peace.
Day 4 / Provision for Those Who Have Already Pledged

2 Corinthians 9:8

"God is able to make all grace abound to you."

Pray for every person and family who has already pledged that God would provide what is needed to fulfill their commitments with joy. Let every pledge fulfilled be a testimony to your faithfulness.

  • Sufficient resources and provision for everyone who has made a pledge.
  • Protection over jobs, businesses, homes, families, and finances.
  • Fresh faith for those feeling stretched by their commitment.
  • Freedom from fear, anxiety, or regret.
  • Joyful perseverance in generosity.
  • Stories of unexpected provision that strengthen the faith of the church.
Day 5 / The Remaining $7.3 Million in Pledges

Philippians 4:19

"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Pray specifically that the remaining $7.3 million in pledges would be raised. God would move in the hearts of his people so that every commitment would be joyful and faith-filled.

  • The full remaining amount to be pledged and given.
  • First-time commitments from those who have not yet participated.
  • First-time commitments from those who now call Village home in the past year.
  • Expanded commitments from those God is inviting into a deeper commitment.
  • Major gifts, sacrificial gifts, and broad participation across the whole church.
  • Wisdom for leaders as they invite people into generosity.
  • Giving to be marked by worship, not pressure.
  • Faith that God is able to provide through his people.
Day 6 / Preparing Village for All God Wants to Do

Colossians 4:3-4

"Pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word... that I may make it clear."

Pray that Village Church would be spiritually, organizationally, and missionally ready for the ministry this facility will make possible.

  • Village to prepare well for the increased ministry capacity.
  • Leaders to be developed for the next season.
  • Ministry teams to be strengthened before the doors open.
  • Kids, youth, young adults, discipleship, worship, prayer, Alpha, leadership development, and City Impact ministries to be ready for growth.
  • The gospel to remain central in every plan.
  • A clear "door for the Word" through this facility.
  • The building to serve the mission.
Day 7 / Constant Dependence on the Lord

Colossians 4:2

"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."

Pray that the church would remain deeply dependent on God, not merely strategic, energetic, or well-resourced. Let our planning be prayerful, our giving worshipful, and our confidence rooted in you alone.

  • A spirit of prayer across the entire church.
  • Protection from self-reliance, pride, panic, worry, anxiety, and striving.
  • Leaders to first and always depend on God more than plans, money, talent, or momentum.
  • The congregation to walk through this season with faith and surrender.
  • Prayer to become central in everyone's life, not supplemental.
  • A renewed conviction that this is bigger than our ability, but not bigger than God.
Day 8 / Courage to Walk Through the Open Door

1 Corinthians 16:8-9

"A wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries."

Acts 12:5

"So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church."

Pray for courage to finish the work and walk through the door God has opened.

  • Courage to complete what God has entrusted to Village Church.
  • Faith to keep going even when the work feels costly or difficult.
  • Protection from discouragement, delay, fatigue, spiritual opposition, and unbelief.
  • A renewed sense of holy urgency.
  • Every person to discern their part in prayer, generosity, service, and faith.
  • The church to move forward together, not reluctantly, but joyfully.
  • The National Ministry Centre to become a lasting witness for gospel ministry in Canada and beyond.
