Foundation Bible - Ground Breaking

The Bible was given to Pastor John by his paternal grandfather, Charles William Broadhead (1896-1989). It speaks to the legacy and faithfulness of God through many generations. Our church wrote down their prayers—hopes for what God will accomplish through this initiative, and personal prayers for their future and family members. In unity we prayed aloud, and then placed our cards with the Bible in the case that will be part of the building’s foundation.

This is what is written in the “Foundation Bible” to mark this milestone:

This Bible is placed in the foundation beneath us as a symbol upon which this local body of believers is based. While Jesus Christ alone is the true Cornerstone of the Church — the One upon whom all things hold together — this Bible represents the unshakable foundation of God's Word, from which we find truth, direction, and calling.

We ask the Holy Spirit to guide and sustain us, to keep us rooted in Scripture, never wavering from its truth - always pointing back to Christ in all we do. May this act declare that this church is not built on shifting sand, but on the solid ground of God's promises, God's presence, and God's Word.

Should this Bible be uncovered in the generations to come, may it bear witness that here stood — and by God’s grace, still stands — a faithful community of believers who loved, followed, and proclaimed Jesus Christ to the very end.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
